Having heard from Miss Hicks that enquiries were

being made as to any Army money I may have received, I have

not had any only the small sum, Miss Hicks kindly gave me

while waiting for answer to her letter to Crown Agents asking if any help could be given me and they have been kind enough to allow me 30/- monthly for which I have been very thankful for in my letter of receiving the first 30/- it stated the money was until further notice, no stated time being mentioned for how long I should receive 30/-, therefore I did apply to

War Office asking if I was entitled to any pension in losing

my son through the war. I have had several forms to fill up which I did fill up and if I had any other money I should have

sent to you at once as I am quite aware that I should not be

allowed two money's, mey I say or ask if the 30/- Crow Agents

are allowing me is for permanent. I shall be very thankful to

them also to still receive the same money, es I am quite

satisfied it was not with any intention of getting more money or to gain money by any deceit. I am well aware that should the 30/- be stopped at any time and I had nothing from War Office that I have no means whatever to keep me from the Workhouse es

the son I lost was the only one to help me.

I do hope there has been no misunderstanding why I sent to the War Office. the same time as I wrote to Crown Agents 8 months ago and that I had no thoughts whatever of trying to impose on any kindness given to me. I am sorry to trouble you with this letter but I think there must be a mistake somewhere if on my part I am quite willing to rectify it if possible.

I am etc.
